NOVAS Track Team At Far Rockaway
Starting in 2014 is the inaugural 'Rockaways Fastest Kid' (RFK) competition. The RFK is our part in revitalizing the peninsula after Sandy. Additionally, we hope to encourage residents to get their children involve in fitness / healthy lifestyle. The first competition took place on Sunday, May 4, 2014 and will continue annually in May of each year. Registration will take place on the day of the event. Distances of 50 m, 100m, 150m and 200m will be run for the competition. ( 'm' = meters)
Likewise, look for our Fall competition called 'Rockaways Strongest Kid'. Participants will run 400m, 600m and 800m.
Every week Monday - Thursday (6:45 - 8:15 pm) at the new Football / Soccer field on 32 street next to the boardwalk the NOVAS Track Club will help boys and girls from the ages of 7 to 18 who are interested in running, getting faster and having fun.
The NOVAS Track Club will be instructing those kids who are interested in participating in the sport of track and field.
If you are interested in having fun, winning awards, travel, getting faster and possibly earn a scholarship, come out to Far Rockaway practice and join in.
